It all started in 1997 with a trip to 1997
IASCA Finals in a Red Cavalier. We didn't do as well as we would have liked,
but it was our first competition system.
We
rebuilt the car for the 1998 season and completed it
just in time to attend a couple shows. The car
did very well and qualified for the
1998 IASCA Finals. Due to some financial constraints, and the fact that
the car wasn't 100% done, we chose not to attend.
A short time later, the
car and the system were stolen. The car was recovered shortly after,
stripped of it's system. You can see pictures of the remnants here.
The insurance company, SGI, paid out the claim on the car (it was written
off due the the damage incurred) quickly, however, they claimed that the
claim for the stereo was a fraudulent one.
A year and a half later, SGI still refuses to honor the
claim for the stereo.
Peter had bought another vehicle, a 93 Blazer,
and the system in it was well over half done, but he recently traded it
for the Saturn. Now we're back, bigger and better than ever. While
the Cavalier was a small powerclass car, Wade has since built another vehicle
for that class. The decision was made to go big, so the 301-600 class was
selected. We plan on attending the 2000 IASCA Finals and as always are
here to have fun!!
